VIGIL

this was an eighteen-piece photo installation I proposed for a show at Abnormals in Poznan. I used Gerard Richter's "Kerzen" photo-painting series as inspiration.

POLVO (DUST)

This was an installation I did back in 2004, white painted canvases with phrases written on them using blush powder (its dust as a pigment)
the words make reference to how the word "polvo" is used in slang in spanish.
for example:
the phrase echar un polvo, literally "to throw a dust", actually means "to have sexual intercourse"

Dusting off old drawings

I've been dusting off old drawings and posting them on my illustration blog, check them out!

Fire in My Belly by David Wojnarowicz, Diamanda Galas

The National Portrait Gallery has removed a work of art from a GLBT-themed exhibition after it attracted conservative and religious ire for its images

this cant be the way we're going...why are we allowing convservatives/republicans/right wing people in power to bring back the inquisition to this time? We need to stop allowing these people to make decisions for us, we need to start moving really forward instead of turning back time.

We need to take action, we cant allow any more homophobia and/or censorship of art from the right and conservative organizations, that use religion as an excuse to perpetuate abuse towards others.
